Overview
Engine test benches can be classified into different types based on the dynamometer used: eddy current dynamometer, water eddy current dynamometer, and electric dynamometer. Eddy current dynamometer and water eddy current dynamometer test benches are mainly used for engine reliability and durability tests, while electric dynamometer test benches can be used not only for reliability and durability tests but also for engine bench power performance, economy, emission optimization matching, engine component testing, and optimization calibration during engine R&D. They can also perform dynamic development tests of engines through whole vehicle and road simulation, and meet the latest engine product certification tests according to Chinese, American, Japanese, and European regulations.
Test Content
- Able to complete various performance or durability tests stipulated in relevant national standards;
- Able to complete all tests stipulated in the emission limits and measurement methods for automotive compression ignition and gas fuel ignition engines and automotive emission pollutants, including ESC, ELR, and ETC test cycles;
- Able to complete free acceleration smoke tests and load acceleration smoke tests for off-road variable-speed engines; Able to complete steady-state and transient operating condition tests such as WHSC, WHTC, NRSC, and NRTC stipulated in the emission limits and measurement methods for automotive compression ignition and gas fuel ignition engines and automotive emission pollutants;
- Able to complete various national and European standard emission regulation tests;
- Able to complete other certification tests stipulated by the state;
- Able to complete user-defined steady-state or transient development tests.
By integrating and incorporating various equipment provided by third parties, such as Horiba 7000 series, Horiba DLS series, AVL 415/439/489 smoke meters, AVL 442 air flow meters, AVL 733/735/753/740 fuel consumption meters, AVL 472 particulate meters, etc., engine-related tests can be performed.
