      The FC2212L series flow and fuel consumption meter is a subsystem of the FC2000 series engine automatic test and control system, meticulously designed by Xiangyi Pulian. It utilizes Coriolis technology to produce an engine instantaneous fuel consumption meter. The FC2212L fuel consumption meter provides accurate measurements for engines using gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), or compressed natural gas (CNG) fuels, regardless of engine power (from a few kilowatts to over 10,000 kilowatts). Its unique design and structure are particularly suitable for measuring fuel consumption in electronic fuel injection gasoline and diesel engines. The fuel consumption meter uses an integrated design, combining the measurement and display unit into one, allowing for independent measurement of engine fuel consumption.

      The FC2212L series flow and fuel consumption meter uses advanced CANBUS fieldbus technology, enabling networking capabilities. Multiple testing instruments can be networked, easily integrated with general-purpose microcomputers or other intelligent instruments to form more advanced testing systems or achieve remote control.

      Compared to previous similar products, the FC2212L series flow and fuel consumption meter has the following advantages:

    • It can simultaneously measure the mass flow rate, volume flow rate, temperature, density, and cumulative fuel consumption of the engine fuel. When connected to the FC2000 system, it can display the engine's average power, hourly fuel consumption, and fuel consumption rate.
    • Multi-parameter display (mass flow rate, volume flow rate, temperature, density, fuel consumption, fuel consumption rate).
    • Utilizes advanced CANBUS fieldbus technology, enabling networking of multiple testing instruments; CAN communication baud rate can be set online.
    • It has both single and continuous fuel consumption measurement functions and can automatically start transient fuel consumption measurement based on the set changes in engine operating conditions.
    • The average fuel consumption time can be arbitrarily set, and it has a power-off protection function.
    • It has two 0-10V analog signal outputs for engine power and fuel consumption (corresponding ranges can be arbitrarily calibrated).
    • It uses advanced digital calibration technology. Two calibration modes can calibrate the mass flow rate and volume flow rate of the instrument and determine the correction coefficient of the instrument. A calibration password is set to prevent unauthorized modification, ensuring parameter accuracy.

     

    Principle and Structural Overview

      The core of the FC2212L flow and fuel consumption meter's display instrument uses the CMF series mass flow meter from Emerson (Coriolis), which has a high sensor measurement accuracy and high range ratio. Technical parameters can be found in Figure 1. The smoothing time of the measured parameters can be set using the keyboard, ranging from 1 to 199 seconds. The measurement results are displayed as a 4-digit floating-point number, with units of kg/h. The mass flow rate, volume flow rate, temperature, density, and cumulative fuel consumption can be displayed simultaneously on the panel.
